Better late than never

Happy Late Mother's Day! 

I hope everyone had a wonderful mother's day weekend! The A-Team had a great mother's day! To my surprise, we were able to keep Little Man all day Saturday and Sunday. The A-Team went to Lake Burton on Mother's Day Sunday. Little Man put his feet in the cold water and splashed around. He is not enjoying baths these days, yet he loved the lake. Go figure. 

My mom, dad, brother, grandmother, and my brother's girlfriend spent the day with us at the lake. It was nice to have a relaxing day with family.

Happy late Mother's Day to my grandmother. She knows better than anyone that biology has nothing to do with love. I admire her for her courage. She chose to adopt a young boy in need of love and a family many years ago. Bruce, my grandmother's SON and MY UNCLE, died at the age of twenty-five. I have NEVER thought of him as being my adopted uncle. He lived as my REAL uncle and died as my REAL uncle. I learned from my grandmother at a young age that it is love that binds you to someone, not your DNA or a biological family tree. 

Happy Mother's Day to my mom. She gives loves unconditionally. She understands what others can't. She lifts me up when I am down. She finds friends among strangers...literally. One of her most admirable traits is that she is caring and nonjudgemental. People are drawn to her. A ninety year old man tells her she is looking prettier than ever as she gets her mail each day. He even picks her a four leaf clover right outside the post office doors as they depart from each other. He finds comfort and happiness in meeting with my mom each day. He finds a friend for a few moments and his pain due to his wife's recent passing is temporally alleviated by my mom's beautiful, warm, and loving smile. She helps him see that although he has lost love with his wife's passing, love is still ALIVE and all around him.

Happy Mother's Day Susu. We send our love and thankfulness. We would not be as strong of a unit if weren't for you. You raised a loving boy that cares for Little Man and me greatly. Thank you!
