He has had a white blood cell count as high as 22,000. It has now decreased to 13,000. We were told a white blood cell count of 10,000 was normal. Yesterday he had a flu test. Flu test = negative. He had chest X-Rays yesterday at 4pm. Chest X-Ray = clear. He wouldn't take any fluids. We ended up in Egelston's emergency room last night. The doctors observed all his neurological functions. They said he didn't appear to have meningitis. Egelston gave us much more information that Longstreet Clinic. They said he could test negative for the flu but still have the virus in his body. They also said a radiologist needed to re-read his charts today. He was given fluid. They did blood work and took a culture, but said they wouldn't be able to tell much without comparing the culture to the culture Longstreet Clinic should have taken Wednesday morning before they administered his first shot of Rucifin. We came home from Egelston early this morning (Friday). He received his 3rd shot of Rucefin this morning from Longstreet Clinic. His fever was around 101 this morning but it was decreased throughout the day. He hasn't taken any Motrin or Tylenol since early this AM. He has taken 3 long naps today. He still isn't taking much fluid. He has only taken 9 ounces of formula. We are now back to feeding him Pedialyte through a straw. We are having to drop it in his mouth. He just ate some baby yogurt, but threw up some of it. His color is better. He is feeling much better than he has felt over the past two days.
We still have no answer for what is causing his high fever. The Egelston doctor said we may never know since Longstreet Clinic did not culture his blood on Wednesday morning before giving him his 1st shot of Rucefin.
Sorry if I haven't answered calls or called everyone back. Little Man is only happy and content if he is being held. If he isn't sleeping, we are holding him. That doesn't leave much time to chat with people about his condition so the best way to update everyone is through the blog.

His daddy was exhausted after only FOUR or FIVE ski runs. He wanted to head back to the house and take a nap with Little Man. Little Man just wanted to play!
